Welcome to The Frome Artists Cafe
Meet local creative people,
share events, ideas, inspire, collaborate, enjoy
7.30 pm Upstairs at The Three Swans, King Street, Frome
2018 dates are at the bottom of this page
Mainly a social evening this is an opportunity to promote your events too, discuss your work and form new collaborations.
We love welcoming new people, please plunge in to let us know who you are. No-one is expected to turn up every month, except me, but it would be lovely to meet you at least one or two times over the year – if only to put a face to a name. In the 2018 Frome Open Studios Brochure on this website you will find contact details for all the entrants, many who regularly attend the Artists Cafe.
Join Frome Artists Café on Facebook (there is a direct feed on our home page), this is a discussion page, a place to mention your events but not a space for continuous spam advertising. If you want to receive the Frome Artists Café e-news direct send your details to me: Caroline Walsh-Waring. Past Newsletters are on the Frome Artists Café Newsletter page, scroll down for News on local and nearby events and I am happy to feature yours too.

News from local artist Jane Eaton
Jane Eaton is an amazing, vibrant artist who lives just over the border in Wiltshire, she is a familiar face at many Frome events and can often be found loitering at Black Swan Previews and other such events. Jane will be exhibiting two works with the St Ives Society of Painters and The Arborealists at The Mariners Gallery in St. Ives. If anyone is down that way for an Autumn break do pop in.
Exhibition 29 September to 20 November 2019. https://stisa.co.uk/
Jane has also been working for almost 3 years with a textile designer in Bath. They have just launched their new website. Ruth and Jane both come from fine art backgrounds and their work is very much reflected in their designs with the hand of the painter very evident. It is well worth taking a peak at what they do, I think many in Frome, like me, try their best to use local artists and designers when looking for someone to complete a specialist project.
Old Bakery Artists in the Round Tower
6th-13th October, 10am-4pm, Preview 5th October, 6-8pm
This vibrant, diverse group of artists returns to Frome and The Round Tower with their latest works in addition to introducing several new members to the public. They would love to welcome you to their Preview on the of 6th October 6-8pm, many of the exhibiting artists will be there and are more than happy to discuss their work, making the whole exhibition experience so much more personal. The artists will be taking it in turns to steward the exhibition for its duration giving you another rare opportunity to discuss directly with them their inspiration, motivation and working practices.
The aim of this group is collaboration, organising regular exhibitions throughout the South West, helping to bring each other’s work to as wide an audience as possible. With regular meetings each member of the group gains inspiration and experience from their fellow artists as time goes on enhancing each exhibition.
